as much as i wanted to be at paradise last saturday to run my truck again and to take my car photo album to the dallas reunion area, i had to go back to the maxton, nc. air field to try to break the A/PP class record since i was so close last month. with the support of my wife and help from mu good friend bob chandler and his assistant alan haney at BOB'S ROD SHOP, my grandson luke dewberry, and my brother in law david wilson, we left last friday at 4:am for maxton. because of 15 years of hard volunteer work and yards of concrete the runway was so improved that someone outbid the east coast timing association to lease the runway. this past weekend was the last meet at the maxton mile and any existing one mile landspeed records or any new ones will be recorded forever. when the ecta starts running next spring at wilmington, ohio an all new record book will be started. anyway, cut to the chase, with some old time hotrodding ingenuity i ran 127.9 mph to set the new and all time record in my class. i realize i am rambling on, but i can not describe the feeling of accomplishment i feel after coming back from a heart attack and three strokes. i hope to communicate with many of you, lee, redvega, jimmy and others. i hope last weekend was good for you at the track and i hope to be back there soon. g patterson, hotrodtrucker

great weekend for both of us, congrats back at you. jimmy wood saw a post i made several weeks ago and remembered my name from 14 years ago when i would stop by every week and visit with a mutual friend of mine and his at the friends race shop. whew, long sentence, he called to congratuate me also. if it would be okay i might give you a call sometime and talk about the old dallas days, you might help me fill in some gaps in my memory loss. garrell patterson, hotrodtruck
